ABOUT THE ARTIST

Janos Schaab, born 1960 in Hungary, worked as graphic-designer/art director before he focused on fine art since the year 2002. Schaab combines techniques, subjects and aesthetics of Pop-, Op- and Street-Art and exceeds their limits. His works are shown in different parts of Germany as well as in Korea, Japan and the USA. The internationally active artist moves between the influential artistic genres of Pop-, Op-, and Street-Art and lifts stylistic boundaries with their combination. His motives - faces of well-known personalities, actors and designers such as Audrey Hepburn, Kate Moss and Coco Chanel - are formed of countless black dots or lines, which cause in the sense of Op Art flickering effects and optical illusions.

He lives and works in Frankfurt/Main.
